Good that we have a blog for discussions in science.
Let me just start off the blog by putting the question as to what is the distinction between basic and applied science. Well, I can tell you thousands of examples to say that there's nothing like basic and applied in science. It is just science. But I was just very impressed by the example that I came across in YouTube. It's a lecture given by 2005 Economics Nobel laureate Prof.Aumann. It is a very simple yet an interesting short lecture.
